Tasted 100% blind: Canella Prosecco Superiore Ranked 2nd out of 100!

More kudos for our pinnacle Prosecco: we had barely finished toasting to the recent Falstaff Sparkling Trophy, when news of a further international accolade reached us: Andreas Larsson, Best Sommelier of the World 2007, tasted 100 Proseccos blind and our Valdobbiadene Superiore Extra Dry DOCG was second out of the hundred tasted.

This is what Andreas wrote: “Canella – Prosecco: pale straw colour with young energetic bubbles. Some autolytic notes, pale stone fruit, pear and slight nuttiness on the nose. Medium weight, good grip, balanced dosage, creamy texture, fresh stone fruit notes and rather long finish. A bit more depth and complexity than most other wines this session. 88/100

Vinitaly is just round the corner!

There’s a lot to look forward to these days: the early overtures of spring after a pretty chilly coda to winter, the joys of colorful Easter egg hunts with your kids and… the year’s major wine fair, Vinitaly, April 7-10.
As always, we’ll be there: you may remember the spot, it’s Pavilion 5, Stand E, as usual!

A Venetian in Vienna: our Prosecco DOCG wins Falstaff Sparkling Trophy

We are delighted to announce that Austria’s Falstaff Magazin has awarded our vintage Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG 91/100 points in its Falstaff Weinguide 2018/19.

This is a truly momentous seal of approval, coming as it does from the most widely read wine & food publication… in a country well known for its scintillating lifestyle and gourmet tastes.

The review praised the Valdobbiadene’s “silvery hues and subtle perlage. Cool, aloof bouquet and light herbaceous notes. Crisp, fresh and fruity on the palate, precise and bold, with distinctive balance and harmony.”

Care to waltz, anyone?

Top-tier Canella Prosecco DOCG wins Mundus Vini silver

Here at the Canella winery, we’re bubbling over with joy. What’s more, these are not just any bubbles, they’re genuine DOCG bollicine from our Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG!

We know: the full name is a mouthful, but so is the wine, as testified by the highly coveted silver medal awarded it at the Grand International Wine Award Mundus Vini in Neustadt, Germany. For four days, some 260 professionals from 47 countries tasted nearly 4.311 wines from over 150 wine-growing regions worldwide. You can imagine our happiness in being selected out of the crème de la crème of international vineyards.
