The Courtesans’ Ball in Venice

Few experiences are quite as rewarding as a Venetian Carnival – a kaleidoscope of festivities, regattas, floats, fireworks and parades that commemorate the city’s glorious history… and inevitably feature the most Venetian of cocktails, Bellini. Canella Bellini’s peachy fragrance and rosy sparkle is set to light up “Cortigiane a Palazzo” on Fat Thursday, February 28th, at Ca’ Sagredo – the Renaissance palazzo and 5-star hotel on the Grand Canal.

Its spectacular frescoed halls, crystal chandeliers and marble staircases will provide a superb period backdrop to the event itself: a masquerade ball and soirée reenacting the saucy fun, music, dances and games of a Renaissance Carnival in the Venetian nobility’s Casin – think a very, very luxurious bachelor pad of the times. Only bigger and better, filled with the finest artwork, most scintillating conversation and loveliest courtesans of a city renowned for its women’s blonde, blue-eyed beauty. Bellezza. To blend with Bellini.

There’s a new sparkle in Seoul

It’s known as the “Soul of Asia”, and considered one of the world’s rising global cities, as well as its fourth largest metropolitan economy: the Korean capital is a really big deal, and we are thrilled to announce our Bellini and Rossini Candonga cocktails have landed on its bustling shores!

Visitors to the Eataly food hall in Seoul cannot get enough of our Venetian sparkle, just like the gourmet crowds of Munich, New York, Chicago…

Alpenglow in a glass: Bellini, Cortina and its historic ski school

If beauty has a home, it’s got to be the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage site and breathtaking alpine landscape that famously takes on a magic, rose-colored glow at sunrise and sunset. Nestled in Veneto’s Belluno province, we find the fairytale Dolomitic resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

One of Cortina’s landmarks is the very first ski school in Italy. Founded in 1933 and nicknamed “Scuola Rossa”, its over 130 teachers and myriad events, races and celebrations add to the fun lifestyle of this exclusive holiday hotspot.

On each of these sparkling occasions throughout the year, guests will be toasting with our very own rosy magic: the Bellini cocktail. Alpenglow in a glass.

Canella Prosecco DOC dons new look

It’s fresh, fruity and fragrant yet silky-smooth and mellow. A winning combination that’s made it the world’s favorite sparkle. Well before it became a household name, Prosecco was a staple in our household… That was around the time founder Luciano Canella, our dad, created the Canella logo: a C design that morphed into a smiling waiter. Over 70 years later, the little C-man’s familiar outline continues to grace our Prosecco DOC.

As of today – and exclusively for the traditional market – in a glamorous, opalescent new version that literally lights up the spare, classic label and bottle.

Mississippi Mud Pie to die for with Rossini Candonga!

Gourmet Alert: Today’s news item will have you indulge in a scrumptious combination of cookie crispness, buttery chocolate richness, Venetian sparkle and fragrant, juicy Candonga® strawberries from Basilicata – courtesy of Rossini Candonga.

Carola, Lorenzo Canella’s wife, has paired the cocktail with a classic Mississippi Mud Pie from the ‘Queen of Chocolate’, Linda Collister (cf. Carola’s blog, “La casetta delle pesche”), and checked the pairing out for you. (A tough job, but somebody’s got to do it…)

The pie’s base is a mixture of crushed Digestive biscuits, dark chocolate and butter, while the filling is pure dreamy, creamy chocolate delight – all topped by cocoa-richened whipped cream and a sprinkling of icing sugar. The blend of diverse textures is a real treasure, best savored by using the very finest chocolate and cocoa and served with our Rossini Candonga. The latter’s unique strawberry fragrance provides the perfect partner to the chocolatey flavors of the southern stateside classic.
