It’s been called Italy’s equivalent of the Oscar for short films. It has launched the careers of award-winning Italian filmmakers like Paolo Genovese, Giuseppe Marco Albano and Alessandro Capitani. It’s the labor of love of Maddalena Mayneri, an extraordinary woman who’s devoted 21 years to the event. Already considered a hotbed of great new talent, this 13th edition – March 19-25 – will see the inauguration of a major new prize, the Medusa Award for Best Original Story, aimed at young scriptwriters – either Italian nationals or resident in Italy, aged 18-34.
What’s more, the event is set in the cinemascope-pretty town of Cortina, “the Queen of the Dolomites” and exclusive ski resort. It comprises screenings, exhibitions, workshops, interviews, authors’ talks and fun, paired with complimentary Bellini cocktails. This year also features a very special premiere: our brand new Rossini from Candonga Top Quality strawberries.
Luca’s cute. Very cute: we should know, since we chose him for our recent Bellini campaign. Twenty-five years old, lively and talented, Luca Vismara speaks five languages, is close to graduating from Milan University, sings beautifully and writes his own songs – an ideal testimonial for the sparkle, freshness and fruit of our Bellini wine cocktail. This year, he’s also taking part in Italy’s most popular talent show, “Amici di Maria De Filippi”, a phenomenal breeding ground for Italian music’s rising stars.
Way to go, Luca! Good luck with the show, best of luck with your life. You were born to sparkle.
