Antonio Turrisi and his “Bellini Gondolier” win the 2016 edition of Bellini per l’Arte

Over two hundred young people from all over Italy submitted their creative artwork to the judging panel of this year’s “Bellini Canella per l’Arte” competition. And the winner was… Antonio Turrisi, b. 1990, in his senior year at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence.

The standard of entries was very high and the winning design was a one-of-a-kind gondolier that embodies Bellini’s Venetian roots in an upbeat, vibrant vein.

The ceremony saw a shortlist of ten very happy young artists, and was held in the Canella peach grove, in the presence of Alessandra, Lorenzo, Nicoletta & Monica Canella and the mayor and councilor for culture of San Donà di Piave.

(Peach trees occasionally grow other fruit than just peaches. Like imagination and artistic flair.)

That’s our favorite Austrian resort, Der Krallerhof four-star hotel – and the love is mutual, for the Altenbergers’ wine list has featured Canella Prosecco for over twenty years, and guests are greeted by an ice cool Bellini worthy of the crisp mountain air on this sunny plateau in Leogang, Salzburg County…

Nothing better to recharge your batteries and get bubbly and cheerful with friends and family.
